SPRING SUMMER 2018 - 10 COLLECTION
HEROES- Mews's SPRING / SUMMER 2018 [10th] collection is inspired by the modus operandi of contemporary fashion. Observing current fashion culture designer Gal Shenfeld created a ready to wear collection that assemble nonchalant casual with glam; glamleisure.
Observing fashion climate, remembering the time before it had been “fashion” as we know it today, illustrates fashion as a game of production and consumption, marketing and speed, and style remixes that create trends over and over “anew”. The era of a true handmade clothes which are defiantly out of time or just extremely particular is no longer relevant in the age of social medias. Those ideas made an elegant and intriguing friction between the ultra-well dressed, sophisticated leisure and a slouchy tailored vibe.
Romanticist fashion scents are merged to high street style to create cutting edge items. This collection is an assembly of one of a kind, timeless, ready to wear garments with a blink of Prêt-à-Couture. Fashion is beyond the simple appreciation of clothes, it is the cultural atmosphere nor garments themselves. Heroes is tapping the spirit of dreaming fashion that isn’t brewing across now.
Different styles and aesthetics worlds are merged and weaved throughout Heroes collection; In Mews’s blacks garments are sewn out of silk fabrics and parachute nylons. Rich oversized silhouettes garments echo movements poetically. Tailored items made from sheer silk organza create transparency games of non-formal softness. Hand beaded items that symbolize a far dream of slow, unique and individual fashion. Active wear as sweatpants are combined with a buttoned shirt to create a relaxed take of a tailored suit, training pants and a cropped top resewn out of silk organza. A foil feather fabric that was made in the studio make a T-shirt in a dramatic silhouette. Flex-printed “FAME OVER“ T-shirt is a paraphrase of "GAME OVER" that is used often in computer games and serves as an ideological title for the digital land in which life takes place today. Rich silhouette dresses combine sporty elements with a soft but rough allure. Transparent silk organza pants, in high-cut are traditionally sewn into a street variation and combined with a swimsuit. There is a fascinating harmony in the loose casualness, traditional formality and glamorous drama. In that radiant light, the clothes are unique in their elongated silhouette, their extravagant volume, and in an artisanal quality that suggests hand-crafts passed down through generations.
